Terms and Conditions of Service

This agreement is made and entered between Sweet and Salty Dog Training trainers (hereinafter ‘Trainer’) and any person who purchases a service, event ticket, subscription or a product from Sweet and Salty Dog Training (hereinafter ‘Client’), both referred to as separately as Party and together as Parties. On the basis of mutual understanding and due consideration, the Parties agree to the following:

 1. General Provisions

 • The purpose of this agreement is provision of the services described herein pertaining to the Client’s dog (Hereinafter ‘Dog’). Trainer undertakes to provide the services in diligent and professional manner, while the Client agrees to act in accordance with the instructions provided by the Trainer and to pay the fee for services rendered by the Trainer.

 2. Services

• Trainer undertakes to provide private / group lessons for Dog and Client (hereinafter ‘Program’). The Program consists of a number of lessons, each lesson lasting for up to 2 hours. The lessons will take place at a Client’s home or other appropriate place pursuant to the prior agreement between the Parties.

 • The client must complete the Program within the allocated time or will forfeit any program lessons that remain.

 • The Client must not use any tools or methods that can cause psychological or physical damage to the Dog, these include but are not limited to using Shock, Prong, Choke/ Check, Bark or Citronella collars, Slip Leads, Invisible Fencing, spraying water or other fluids to stop a behaviour, scolding or yanking on the leash, pinching or smacking or any other form of physical punishment, verbal punishments such as yelling and asserting dominance. As per the CAPDT Code of Ethics, Trainer reserves the right to end the contract immediately if any of the above has taken place.

 • The purpose of the training is to adjust the behaviour of the Dog and to teach the Client how to train and work with the Dog. Client hereby agrees that no training is perfect and that the effects of the training can be affected by various factors.

 • Trainer will take all appropriate measures to achieve training and behaviour goals using force-free and reward-based methods only but makes no guarantees as to the results. Client further agrees to take all necessary steps to aid the Trainer and to follow on any instruction or advice provided by the Trainer, especially to work with the Dog daily and to constantly reinforce the training.

 • Client further acknowledges that Dog may be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions which include, but are not limited to, vehicular travel, interaction with people and other animals, exposure to adverse weather, and exposure to areas with crowds and all types of traffic.

 • Trainer will advise the Client on the equipment that is necessary for them to acquire or may provide training equipment. Client agrees to use the equipment in accordance with the instructions provided by the trainer.

 • Trainer may take photos and videos of the Dog for use in any media and advertising of Sweet and Salty Dog Training and its affiliates. Trainer may use such photos and videos on any platform including their website, YouTube, Facebook, and other social media.

 3. Service Fees & Refunds

 • Service Fees are to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the Program, except where other arrangement have been agreed by both Trainer and Client in writing via email. Agreed amount will be sent via an invoice to the client or can be paid on the day via Paypal or Cash.

 • The Client may cancel a lesson with at least 48 hours’ notice in which case the Client does not owe the service fee for that particular lesson and a rescheduled date will be arranged. A refund may be granted under certain circumstances. If the Client cancels within 48 hours of the lesson, but not immediately before the lesson, the Client is obligated to pay ½ of the Service fee. No refund will be provided after the lesson commences or is unable to commence because of the Client regardless of the number of lessons provided.

 • The Client may request a partial refund or credit of a Program after the Program has commenced in exceptional circumstances e.g.: sudden death of the dog or return to a rescue organisation. The Client may book additional Programs and further fees will be applicable. This agreement will be valid for additional lessons and Programs.

4. Liability

 • Trainer is not liable for any damage or injury caused to or by the Dog, during or after the term of this agreement. The Client agrees to pay for all resulting losses or damages and to hold harmless and indemnify the Trainer, Trainer’s agents, employees and affiliates, from any resulting claims, lawsuits, costs and expenses, including attorney fees. If during or after the term of this agreement the Dog is injured or harmed, the Client assumes the risk and agrees the Trainer should not be held responsible for any resulting injuries, losses, damages, costs or expenses.

 • Trainer is not liable for any damage or injury caused by the equipment during or after the training. Client is responsible for destroying or damaging of the equipment provided by Trainer in all cases where such damage cannot be credited to equipment’s regular wear and tear.

 5. Terms of the Agreement

 • This agreement is valid for the term of the initial Program and any further training booked thereafter with Sweet and Salty Dog Training. This agreement may be terminated at the sole discretion of the Trainer if the Dog is aggressive, dangerous, or otherwise deemed unsuitable for training, or if the Client breaches any part of this agreement.

Final Provisions

In case of any dispute, the Parties agree to mediate and settle through negotiations and mutual understanding. This Contract for Training Services supersedes all other agreements, written or oral, previously made between Client and Trainer.
